Arnold Peter Burggraff was born in Royalton, MN, on March 12, 1924, to Edward and Theresa (Janski) Burggraff. He grew up in Royalton and attended a rural school. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy on Oct. 27, 1942, and was honorably discharged on Oct. 10, 1945, as an aviation machinist 3rd class. Arnold was united in marriage to Virginia Popp on Dec. 11, 1944, in Rice, MN. Following his discharge from the U.S. Navy he moved to Little Falls. He worked for the West Side Creamery and Anderson Custom Processing for 40 years before retiring in 19 85. Virginia passed away June 15, 1980. His hobbies included gardening, playing cards, baseball and listening to old time music. Arnold was a member of American Legion Post 46 and VFW Post 112.
Arnold is survived by his sons, Kenneth and wife Patricia of Little Falls, Richard Burggraff of Anoka, MN and Robert (Bob) Burggraff of Little Falls; four daughters, Kathy Wotzka of Long Prairie, MN, Carol Fussy and husband John of Royalton, Nancy Barthel and husband Donald of Little Falls and Judy Toft and husband Jon of Brainerd, MN; two brothers, Raymond Burggraff of Royalton and Edward, Jr. of Little Falls; four sisters, Lorraine Schlichting of Little Falls, Rita Mugg of Sartell, MN, Alma Popp of Rice, MN, and Elaine Gall of St. Cloud, MN; 25 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia; parents; one granddaughter, Wendy Burggraff; and two brothers, Ralph and Ernest Burggraff.
