Funeral services were held November 24 at Holy Trinity Cath olic Church in Royalton with Father Laurn Virnig officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery. Bernadine was born on July 24, 1933, in Royalton to Isadore and Emily (Jarosh) Kalis. She married Raymond Burggraff on August 31, 1953. She was a member of Holy Trinity Church and the Christian Mothers in Royalton and was also a member of the Central MN TEC Retreat Program. Survivors include her husband, Raymond; two sons and three daughters, Roger Burggraff and wife Patty of Royalton, Don Burggraff and wife Carrie of Sartell, MN, Shirley Schreifels and husband Dan of St. Cloud, MN, Karen Boese and husband Dean and Jeanne Mehrwerth and husband Rick of Sauk Rapids, MN; three sisters, Mrs. Josephine Larson and husband Elmer of Sobieski, MN, Mrs. Mary Ann Cegla and husband Matt of Moorhead, MN, and Mrs. Dolores Popp and husband Loren of Rice, MN; a brother, Al Kalis and wife Mar ion of Little Falls, MN, and 12 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son and a brother, James Kalis. Honorary casketbearers were Janell, Daniell, Kristen, Rowen , Gwen, Ryan and Sara Burggraff. Casketbearers were Gary La rson, Dan Kalis, Marvin Schlichting, Ron Cegla, Ralph Burggraff, Jr., and Don Dubbin. He grew up in Royalton and attended a rural school. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy on Oct. 27, 1942, and was honorably discharged on Oct. 10, 1945, as an aviation machinist 3rd class. Arnold was united in marriage to Virginia Popp on Dec. 11, 1944, in Rice, MN. Following his discharge from the U.S. Navy he moved to Little Falls. He worked for the West Side Creamery and Anderson Custom Processing for 40 years before retiring in 19 85. Virginia passed away June 15, 1980. His hobbies included gardening, playing cards, baseball and listening to old time music. Arnold was a member of American Legion Post 46 and VFW Post 112. Arnold is survived by his sons, Kenneth and wife Patricia of Little Falls, Richard Burggraff of Anoka, MN and Robert (Bob) Burggraff of Little Falls; four daughters, Kathy Wotzka of Long Prairie, MN, Carol Fussy and husband John of Royalton, Nancy Barthel and husband Donald of Little Falls and Judy Toft and husband Jon of Brainerd, MN; two brothers, Raymond Burggraff of Royalton and Edward, Jr. of Little Falls; four sisters, Lorraine Schlichting of Little Falls, Rita Mugg of Sartell, MN, Alma Popp of Rice, MN, and Elaine Gall of St. Cloud, MN; 25 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia; parents; one granddaughter, Wendy Burggraff; and two brothers, Ralph and Ernest Burggraff. 43 | Birth: Mar. 20, 1934 Death: Apr. 23, 1960 Solemn Services For Elizabeth Burggraff Monday Solemn funeral services were conducted at St. Joseph's Church, Pierz, Monday morning, April 25th, for Elizabeth Burggraff, 26 years, 1 month, who passed away at St. Gabriel's Hospital, Saturday, April 23 at 12:15 a.m., after spending a day there. She had been a lifetime invalid. Celebrant of the Requiem was Rev. Robert Voigt, with Rev. Robert Schulzetenberg assisting as deacon and Rev. Richard Leisen as subdeacon. Interment was in the Pierz cemetery. Pallbearers were six cousins, Ernest, Edward, Arnold and Raymond Burggraff, and Sylvester and Norbert Janski. She was born at Pierz March 20, 1934, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roman Burggraff. Surviving with them are brothers and sisters, James, Minneapolis; Aloysius, Brainerd; Lawrence and Marvin, Owatonna; Dennis at home; and Mrs. Tony Langer, Owatonna.
